Introduction
In collaboration with Italian VET provider and specialist in cultural participation, Melting Pro, Interpret Europe is offering a new mentoring and peer-support programme to freelance consultants and/or trainers whether recently established in, or brand new to, heritage interpretation.
While principally intended for IE members, the programme will also reach out to non-member heritage professionals who we hope will join our interpretive community.
The programme will run from 2026 to 2028. Each year, we will focus on a main thematic priority identified through the needs and interests expressed by the interpretive community.
We therefore kindly invite you to complete this survey, which should take roughly 20 minutes depending on the depth of your answers.
The survey explores four key areas that relate to your practice as a heritage interpreter, whether you are just starting out or already working at an advanced level.
The first explores your professional growth aspirations and transversal competences.
The second looks in more depth at the key competence areas – professional practice, growing your business, digital skills, facilitation and mentoring, and soft and relational skills – and asks you to indicate your priorities for development in 2026.
A third section focuses on mentoring experience, in order to map the current mentoring landscape within the Interpret Europe community, while the final section gathers basic profile information to help tailor future professional development opportunities.
Please note: Completing the survey is not conditional on you committing to participate in the mentoring programme. We simply want an accurate snapshot of professional development needs among the interpretive community so that the subjects and content of this initiative address those needs as far as possible.
All responses are confidential and will be used to design tailored activities within the programme. However, we warmly encourage you to keep a copy of your responses for your own professional development and considerations.
Thank you for your collaboration!
