I am Paola Gentile, Assistant Professor at the University of Trieste.
I would like to request your assistance with a new research project, which focuses on examining the status and job satisfaction of interpreters in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The initial survey of this kind was conducted in 2016 as part of my PhD research and has since become a pivotal reference point in the study of our profession. Now, seven years later, I am seeking your valuable insights to evaluate how the interpreter's status has evolved.
Your participation in this survey, addressed to both conference, court and public service interpreters, will also play a critical role in shaping new university curricula. These curricula are being developed to address the latest developments in our field, including the increasing prevalence of remote interpreting and the integration of AI.
The survey is designed to be completed in approximately 8-10 minutes, and all responses will be kept strictly anonymous. Comment boxes are optional.
